September

The last day of August we celebrated Kelsey's birthday. I can't believe she is 10 already! She requested hamburgers and french fries for her birthday supper. I had just gotten ground beef in Accra so I made hamburger patties! They were so good!!

Brent learned to ride bike without training wheels toward the end of August and one day we walked to the shop and the boys biked. Brent was a tad bit out of control sometimes but he made it the whole way without falling. This bridge goes over  acreek and Austin had told him he better stay in the midle so he don't fall in. He very carefully rode in the middle!
A friend gave me some hard coconut. I shredded it and the next day......
                                                          Coconut cream pie!!
One Saturday afternoon we spent several hours at Brenu Beach.

When you look up and this is your view; all you can do is feel blessed!
With the return to school, we started having craft classes once a month with the four local home school families. Evelyn Weaver taught a class on drawing cartoon faces.

The first Sunday in September we returned to our normal church. Our service is still shorter since we have limited men to do the teaching and preaching, but it is good to have a more normal service.
A beautiful sunset on the way home from a Friday evening shopping trip to town.
A slow wake up on a relaxing Saturday morning.
Kenny and I celebrated our anniversary with an evening at a local book store and then supper at the coffee shop.
One day Toms and us went to the houses out at the press to arrange furniture and organize a bit. They were there already and we got rained on while we were driving. They are widening this section of the road and this hill might as well have been covered in ice. This truck slid down and then choked off. It had a dead battery so Kenny took the battery out of our truck for them to use to get it started. Till we got to the house Tom and Galyn and their family had all the work done!
They are building a sea defense along the coast in our area. Sadly ruining many nice beaches. One day we took a drive out on it. After they are done with a stretch they put rocks on it so no one can drive. they were using this section to haul their rocks.
One afternoon the missionary families played wiffle ball together.
And the end of September was a long awaited day!! Austin was so pleased to spend part of his birthday with his daddy at the shop. He told me when he got home, I even helped fix things! (After school he had helped Kenny work on a moto.)

We are making plans for our furlough! Everyone is excited about being in America and seeing family and friends once again. The plan is to leave the week after school finishes at the shop which is mid November. We will fly back to Ghana mid December. School continues to go well for Kenny. He hired another teacher and he started October 1st. He will replace Jarell and then all the teachers besides Kenny will be natives next term.
