Through A Glass Darkly

      This phrase is used when thinking of how we view heaven. But lately we have been discussing events in the US and how the people in Ghana view them and this phrase comes to mind.    I don't think we will ever understand how our country of origin affects the world at large. There are several things that I have been pondering for a long time and I will see if I can explain clearly.     Racism in general has been a huge topic in the world the past months. And racism is something we see in a very different light after living as a minority in Ghana.     The other day Kelsey got her hair braided and the lady that was doing it asked me about our friend. They had done her hair when she was here visiting. She said, " And you took a picture that time. Do you show it to the people in America?    As I went back through my pictures from August I was amazed at everything that has happened. So many memories from such a short amount of time! The beginning of August we had a ladies and children swimming day. It was a little on the cool side but we really enjoyed it! It was lovely to relax and talk while watching the children have so much fun. In the evening we had a hot dog roast farewell for Earl and Amanda. My children were so happy to dig out jackets for the first time since we have been here! The air was cool! The following Sunday we went for a hike in the bush behind our house. We went down to a beautiful river with an almost finished bridge. It was about an hours walk down a foot path in the bush. Courtney and Destiny stayed over night since Earl and Amanda needed to go to Accra for Covid tests in preparation for their flight home. Of course everyone had to play school!
