Glimpses of our Life in Ghana

We were privileged to have this group of men and women come to help with VBS. (The three Palm Ministries teachers are also on this picture) Sometimes before a group comes we sigh just a bit. There are so many unknowns. Will they enjoy their trip? Will they want to get out and experience as much as possible or will they have a more laid back and relaxed approach to their trip? Will they want to eat every kind of food they can or will they miss American foods? But then they arrive and we enjoy the new faces and fresh enthusiasm. We feel revived and blessed as we watch their wonder at things that have become normal. This group challenged me with their friendliness and love they poured into all the people they came in contact with. This picture is taken at the fort that overlooks Elmina. The Dutch built it to protect the castle and for the soldiers to stay at. Kaylene and I work together for meals and things when the group is in our area. Greeting for Ghana once again! I am going to combine two months into one again. February was a more open month for us, leading up to a very busy time. Missionary retreat, Kenny's brother and his family visit, and then VBS followed each other so fast it was hard to catch our breath. But God was so faithful in the busy times and everything went really well. Maybe someday I will learn not to stress over these things because not once has God let us down and things were just a disaster. February had some of the dustiest days we ever saw in Ghana. Hot, hazy and humid. But dusty! I dropped something off at school one day and found Brent and Austin reading library books on the porch. They were reading the funny parts to each other. I am so thankful Austin is enjoying reading a bit more and Brent is enjoying it as well. He went through that stage of realizing he can read pretty much everything he finds and was so pleased to read anything from the ketchup bottle to actual books. Did I mentio
