September

Our youth event is over and the group left a week ago. Time moves on at rapid speed. It always amazes me at how time flies and yet the moments can be long. Recently a friend asked for help, it was so hard and I agonized at saying no, but I knew it wasn't for her long term good to help in this way. Time stood still as I forced myself to say no instead of handing her the money she wanted. When misunderstandings happen and trust between people is broken, time seems to stand still as you wait for healing and cry out to God for forgiveness and restoration. When difficult decisions need to be made, it seems like time stands still as you long for God's perfect will. When I sit at my favorite spot beside the ocean and soak in the beauty and the peace, it seems time stands still and God refreshes and restores. When I look out my bedroom window and watch the beautiful sun rise over the rolling hills, I stand still and thank God for a new day. Truly, sometimes the days are long but the years are short!

Some babies don't need to be tied on! They know how to cling onto their big sister's back during Bible study. This little cutie melted into a puddle of tears every time I got near.
Kelsey buying bread. We love our "bread lady" and the delicious bread she sells. If you get there at the right time, it might be freshly delivered from the bakery and still warm.
Austin has found out he likes playing with babies. Especially with this happy little cutie!
Cecelia adored our puppies. Cuddling and singing to this one like it was a baby.
Brent found an exceptionally large toad in our yard one day.
First day of school! We are so thankful for Miss Jenna and her willingness to come and teach!
They like to bike and I go most of the way with them. We live about exactly a mile from school but with two villages to go through we don't let them go on their own.
Unfortunately the first day of school was also Brent's first day of malaria. A puppy made him smile but he was a very miserable boy for most of the week. Since this was our family's first case of malaria in the 4 and a half years we have lived here, we still count ourselves very blessed.
He was well enough to go to the beach for a bit later that week but wore out very quickly.

And on the 29th, Austin turned 9!
We are spending the week packing and trying to tie up all the loose ends in preparation for furlough. And in a week, Lord willing, we will be landing in the US!
