May (over a month late)

I just sat down to catch up on blogging and realized that somehow this blog never got sent. So now you can really catch up on our lives!
May was a busy month of gatherings and then saying good bye to Burnell and Lisa and their family. Rainy season finally started and we all noticed how clear the skies were after a shower. We usually have high humidity or dusty hazy skies.
We spent an evening at the ocean. The children played on a fishing boat, pretending to go to sea!
Or taking jumps off of it.

I know I have said it so many times but we are so thankful to have all this beauty so close by.

The farmers are still working hard in their fields every day. I love the expanded view out of my kitchen window. And watching them farm has been making me think of all kinds of comparisons between their battle for crops and our life on earth, and also compare the culture of hard labor, a little at a time, to the highly effective, high speed culture of the US. I'm convinced both have their pros and cons. We can learn many lessons from each other.
One Saturday on our way to Cape Coast shopping we passed a large group of bikers. Then we came to this finish line. We had never seen a bike race in Ghana before but we were informed they do them every year.
She was being silly and carrying a basket on her head.

Kelsey and a friend having a discussion about school.
A beautiful evening in our village.
We celebrated Della's third birthday. It is hard to believe how big he is getting!
And sweet little Keturah is so much fun to hold and play with. Some people thought they should teach her how to play chess. Pretty sure she would just eat the pieces at this point but maybe someday.....

One morning while driving we saw this mountain with a blanket, as Brent called it.

I feel a little like I'm not sure what all we did this past month. Our minds are full with the change of missionaries that just happened. Burnell and Lisa left one day and Joel and Marcie Burkholder and family arrived the next. There are a lot of changes that happen when one family leaves and another comes. It is like losing a family member and gaining another one. Pray for our group as we all adjust. We are excited to see what God has in store for all of us in this next chapter of our lives.
