The past weeks have ben very busy and I am just starting to get to the projects that were on my 'that can wait' list. So now to fill you in a bit on what has been going on. Our dog had puppies and they were 4 weeks old when we left on furlough. When we got back it didn't take us long to decide that some puppies need to go! It didn't take very long for them all to find homes. The last one just went to her new home with Wayne and Dorothy.
It does get rather warm at church and some times till it is over, we feel a little like this!
I was sitting, chatting with one of the ladies I frequently buy from at market and this little girl came over to examine the obrunis (white people).
And of course we were delighted to play with this cheery little fellow again!

Austin started 1st grade the week after we came and just got his first Reading book last week.
Harmattan visited for about 10 days. While everything got dusty faster, it also means cooler temperatures. And beautiful sunsets.
The house at Peace Ave hadn't been lived in for almost a year. It took a lot of work to get it clean and everything working again but we finished in time and now we have new neighbors! Wayne and Dorothy Zimmerman arrived in Ghana last week. Our mission family is growing again and it is a welcome change to have more people around! We got a bit lonely over Covid lock down but that shouldn't be a problem for quite awhile. Another house building project means work crews. And one more family will be moving over sometime in the next several months.
One Saturday evening we had a chicken BBQ at the shop and said goodbye to Laverne and Sheri Martin. They were only here 6 weeks, but it doesn't matter how long you have known someone, it matters what all you have experienced with that person. No one wanted to say good bye and stood around talking. Brent had had enough of it and took a nap on his daddy's office chair.
This little tent is our favorite chop bar (fast food). It is located conveniently close to our shopping place in Cape Coast and if we are shopping after Kenny finishes at the shop, we like to stop here.
Fried chicken, fried rice, and salad. All for about $1. You can find this meal for the same price quite a few places but this place has the best version!
It is fast, affordable, and healthier than most fast food!
And when we get home at 6:30 or 7, I am very thankful not to have to cook!
An early morning checkers game! I think they are the only ones that know the rules they play by. But they aren't far off.
Austin asked to oil his bike chain. It should be good for awhile!!
And our beautiful crown of thorns plant we inherited from another missionary family. I miss flower beds and gardening even if it wasn't my favorite past time.
Kenny started his third school term last week. There are 7 students coming for the year and 3 junior students that will come till their high school classes start in March. It was definitely the easiest it has ever been to start school. All the documents are now saved on the computer and all you need to do is hit print. Last year we did a lot of adjusting safety manuals, writing student agreements, code of conduct rules, teacher contracts. This year was a reminder of how far we have come. I put almost no prep in for Kenny this year with the exception of house cleaning his office. The teachers even cleaned the restrooms for me!
And so life continues in Ghana! Busy and fulfilling. Frustrating at times and yet we love it!
