July

Here are a few pictures from our month, starting with the most recent ones.

The little house out at Assomdwee. It was almost finished.
The main house was just getting its finishing touches. These houses are just waiting for their families to come and live in them as soon as the borders open. We are anxiously waiting as well!!
Lonnie and Evie Weaver went with us. We had a picnic lunch on the front porch. It was a very enjoyable day!

Our garden finally produced beans! And what beans they are!! The lettuce is getting eaten as it grows. But we aren't sure what is eating it.
One Saturday the men and boys went fishing. They managed to snag this one. It seems the fish in Ghana aren't very hungry.
Brent so rarely poses for me these days. So I was happy to get a good picture of him.
They fished off the rocks where the river meets the ocean.

Patricia and Della came to visit us one Saturday.
He is such a little cutie!
Everyone was very happy to have him.

We canned pickles!

 Kelsey cooked the syrup.
Brent carried the jars.
Austin stuffed the jars. It was fun to can once again!
Kelsey tries to make pets out of everything! One day she found two snails and a centipede. She kept them for a few days before the centipede escaped (outside thankfully!) and her daddy convinced her to let the snails go.

Brent loves playing with Cindy. She tolerates pretty much but does get tired of it.

For 4th of July we had a pig roast. We played some games and had a pinata.

Our supper was so yummy! Pig, baked potatoes, sweet corn, salad, and dessert. Felt like a very American meal!!

Living Hope grows a little sweet corn. It was such a treat!!
Brent was babysitting for Kelsey one morning while she cleaned her bedroom. He read the dollies his favorite book!
And rainy season arrived full force! With rain every day, the only way to dry things is inside under the fans.
The creek overflowed one Sunday.
Kelsey got her hair braided by Patricia's neighbor girl. It was enjoyable sitting and visiting and cuddling Della!
