June

June is like every month and flies by. I was afraid it would drag with things being extra quiet around here but life in Ghana is never actually dull. Next week is July already! Here, in no particular order, is a little bit of our lives this month.

Jarell cooking on the coal pot.

Our sun rises have been beautiful!

Very typical before bed activities.

Brent learned to do puzzles and although he works hard to do it, he does this one over and over again.

We replanted again, but the garden is growing this time! I love fresh little plants!

Another gorgeous sunrise!

We have some empty mission houses right now. One day Kenny decided he could haul the small recliner from the one to our house and enjoy it until it is needed elsewhere. He told me he is going to use his moto to haul it. And I said he couldn't. So...... he did!

Our favorite meal! Fried rice with cooked chicken, cabbage, onions, and carrots. One easy meal in one pan!

I rarely bake, but one day Austin and I made cupcakes. He loves helping in the kitchen!

One of the more stressful days in June. One of the houses that had been sitting empty was broken into. Galyn and I came to do some sorting and packing and found a bunch of stuff gone. They went up through the porch ceiling and down through the living room ceiling inside.

Rainy season is officially here! Cooler temperatures mean not even running a fan all hours of the day although I find myself turning them on because it just doesn't seem right not to. And of course rain! It hasn't been too bad yet.
Kelsey sewed a dress! I did the zipper but she did the rest over several days. She begs to sew, so I decided, why not?
This is called a load of little coconut trees. The top is stacked high and the inside is packed. Wonder where they are going?

They play with play dough on occasions. When their mom feels like dealing with play dough on the floor! But they love it and it keeps them happy for a long time!

Amanda Shirk and I (and my children) walked to Tom and Galyn for a ladies day on a beautiful afternoon. The salt flats were filled with water and the children loved walking along the "lake" as they called it.

We even walked between the "lakes".

The bars on the shop windows were badly rusted.

So new ones got installed.

The borders of Ghana are still closed. They are relaxing the restrictions but that one is still indefinite. We are praying it opens up so people can plan again and the ones coming and going can get where they need to be. One week slips into the next and we wonder where time has gone. We are so thankful for health and an abundance of things to do!
