Company!

We stayed in Accra overnight. When we got up, we had a flat tire. Thankfully we had a spare that was good!

We had so much fun with these people! They spent a day and a half in Egypt on the way here. And then we packed as much into their week long stay as we could with out feeling like we hadn't even had time to catch up with each other.

Of all things, our men sat around and drank coffee and read books till late at night! They didn't do it every night but it happened several times!

One day we drove out to the Palm press. We got to see the new house building project as well.

Unfortunately the press was not in operation. We did meet the crew out buying palm fruit.
The row of big cookers.

Beautiful bush land!

A log bridge

The palm press to the left and the foundation for the new house to the right.

One morning we went to fish market and Elmina castle. Someone said it would make a "Where is Waldo?" picture! I agree. It was impossible to take it all in! They are building a second story over part of it, so we had a nice look out away from the noise and smell a bit.

Pretty much any fish you could want!

Do you see the big sting ray? There is a small one on the wooden board beside it too.

The last day we went to the Accra zoo. Kelsey was actually looking forward to holding this python.

Austin can't be outdone by his sister and had to do it as well!

After dropping them off at the airport we collected things in Accra and then made a stop to visit a mission run by the Eastern church. We drove home some dirt roads as it got dark. There is a lot of dust in the air these days so it always looks hazy. But it sure made a beautiful sunset.

And then we thought our eyes were deceiving us! We saw zebras hiding in the bushes. But they were rather tall!

And just a bit farther on we saw some giraffes and in the background, mostly hid by trees, were a few elephants. I would love to know the story behind these statues. They were obviously from a long time ago, as their backs were either coated in dirt or faded from the sun.

We are looking forward to our next group of visitors the end of this week. My sister and friends will be here for two weeks. The door is always open for all who want to come!!
